Creating a Distinctive Concept to Unify a Growing Restaurant Brand with Inspiring custom wallpaper designs
As a restaurant business expands across multiple locations, consistency becomes an important part of building recognition and long-term brand value. For this client, the challenge was not simply about improving interiors — it was about helping a growing group of venues feel connected, distinctive and memorable.
Our client owned and operated a number of Indian fusion restaurants across the North West and was in the process of acquiring additional locations.
As the business expanded, there was a clear need for a stronger sense of continuity across the venues. The client wanted a theme that could run through each restaurant so that every location felt part of the same wider brand, while still offering a dining experience that stood out in its own right. The aim was to create something competitors did not have: a recognisable visual thread that customers would notice, remember and associate with the group as it grew.
At the same time, there was another opportunity already taking shape.
Customers were naturally posting photographs from the restaurants on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Rather than treating this as a by-product of the dining experience, the client wanted to make more of it. If the spaces could become more visually distinctive and immersive, those customer posts had the potential to become a much stronger form of organic promotion.
The challenge, then, was to create an interior concept that could support both brand continuity and social appeal — something memorable enough to become part of the restaurants’ identity and visually striking enough to encourage people to photograph and share it.
Working from that ambition, we helped develop a multiple bold interiors concept that could act as a recognisable signature across the venues which were to be printed on custom wallpaper and applied to the walls just like hanging it at home.
Following a site visit, all of the relevant wall spaces were measured and translated into a full interior design plan. From there, a custom wallpaper concept was developed specifically for the restaurants. The artwork featured rich jungle scenes filled with authentic Indian wildlife, including waterfowl, tigers and species of deer associated with Indian jungle environments.
The intention was to create something immersive, energetic and unmistakable — a feature that would immediately give the spaces more character while also reinforcing the cultural influence behind the brand in a more stylised and memorable way.
Once the design had been finalised, the custom wallpaper was printed and installed in a single day, allowing the transformation to happen quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption to restaurant operations.
The finished result gave the client exactly what they were looking for: a stronger visual identity, greater continuity across locations and a more distinctive in-venue experience.
The restaurants now had the “wild factor” the client wanted — an interior feature that brought energy, personality and a recognisable thread from one site to the next. That consistency helped support the wider brand as it expanded, while also giving customers something visually engaging to notice and share online.
What began as an interiors project became a subtle but effective brand and marketing asset. By creating an environment that people naturally wanted to photograph and post, the client gained an additional layer of promotion through organic social content, helping the business build recognition in a way that felt authentic rather than forced.
It is a strong example of how design can do more than improve a space visually. When used strategically, it can help a growing business create consistency, strengthen identity and turn the customer environment itself into part of the marketing experience.
